CHRISTMAS ISLAND

There's always room in my passport for a CXI stamp

CHRISTMAS ISLAND - Bonefishing mecca of the world. Fly to Hawaii, take a 4.5 hr. flight south, and you're there. Days where anglers release +20 bonefish are fairly common. Shots at Giant Trevally are always part of the daily activity... and they can run up to 80 lbs. Outside, in the deep water they have tuna, wahoo, milkfish, billfish, and more G.T.'s. Some places, (The 'Korean Wreck') an angler can release up to 10 different species in a day. The place we stay is "The Villages"

Hosted Trips to Christmas Island - CXI (Kiribati)

.2010. .2013. .2018. .2019. .2020.

2018 trip was a raging success. All 7 of my clients had the time fo their lives, and some landed 'fish of a lifetime'. Congrats to Zach and his 85+ lb Giant Trevally caught on a 10 wt. after 45 min. battle. Epic!!

Tons of bonefish were caught. Triggers, bluefin/barred/yellow trevally, wrasse, grouper, snapper were all landed. Nobody got ill and all flights went off without a hitch. There might be plans to return within a year.... stay tuned.

Our 2013 trip was a raging success !! Congrats especially to Dave scoring his largest bonefish ever, and largest fish on a fly ever !! Kevin scored his first (and 30th) bonefish !! Marshall landed a whopper GT.... and everybody else had excellent trips.

The 2016 trip to Christmas Island was a huge success. Everybody caught a ton of bonefish. I walked alone on the last day and ended with 36 fish to hand. I mean....it just doesn't get much better than Christmas for numbers of shots at bones per day. Many GT to 25 pounds were caught. Triggerfish were landed and lost. (They have sharp teeth!!!!) One day we got into Milkfish. An incredible fighting fish that runs like a bonefish and jumps like tarpon. Yellowfin tuna caught trolling just outside the lagoon provided fresh sashimi for all.
